What We Do
Aviel is a co-founder and CEO of IMedis-AI. Aviel has vast multidisciplinary experience in the medical device industry in various positions covering clinical application engineer, product manager, software developer and Deep Learning algorithm developer. Aviel is experienced in the full development cycle from preliminary characterization to successful commercialization in a crowded market. Aviel has deep knowledge, both clinical and technical, of several imaging modalities including CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound and MRI. Aviel holds a BSc in Bio-Medical Engineering from the Technion, Haifa and is finalizing his thesis for a MSc in Bio-Medical Engineering from Tel-Aviv University.
Yitzi is a co-founder and CTO of IMedis-AI. Yitzi has extensive experience in medical image processing and computer vision and is an expert in AI and deep-learning. Yitzi worked in several medical image companies as an algorithm team-leader and developed many state-of-the-art algorithms from concept to commercial stage. Yitzi has vast experience in running clinical and validation trials with leading US medical institutes for the purpose of obtaining clinical proof and regulatory approvals (e.g. FDA). Yitzi holds a BSc in Bio-Medical Engineering and a MSc In Electrical Engineering specializing in Medical Image Processing from Tel-Aviv University.
Jonathan Balcombe, MD
Dr. Balcombe is a radiologist specializing in Emergency Imaging, Cardiac Imaging and Body Imaging. Dr. Balcombe received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University, and his medical degree from University College London Medical School. He completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 2008, followed by a fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging in 2009, both at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Balcombe has published papers regarding automated analysis of coronary artery CT angiography, characterization of mediastinal paragangliomas, embolic potential of gonadal vein thromboses, cavitation of lung metastases and more.

Mr. Oded Tamir is a seasoned entrepreneur, C-level Executive and Board member with over two decades of experience in the medical device industry. During his career Mr. Tamir raised over $200M, led M&A deals of over $750M, managed over $1B in revenues, led and developed teams of up to 200 employees. Mr. Tamir is the former Co-Founder, Board Member and COO at InSightec and served as COO and CFO at Elbit Medical. Mr. Tamir holds a BSc in Economics and Business Management from the Technion, Haifa. In addition, he is a graduate of both the Executive Development Management Program of the Technion and the Crotonville – John F. Welch Leadership Development Center.
Mr. Assaf Barnea is a seasoned entrepreneur and venture professional, with extensive, multidisciplinary experience in building innovation platforms in healthcare. Mr. Barnea leads Sanara Ventures, a healthcare innovation fund backed by Phillips and Teva. In addition to leading Sanara, Mr. Barnea chairs the Life Science Advisory Board at The Israel Export Institute, on behalf of the Israeli government. Mr. Barnea is a certified lawyer, and holds both law and business degrees from the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzelia, as well as a BA in political science and psychology from Tel-Aviv University.
Eran Toledo, PhD
Dr. Eran Toledo, CTO at Sanara Ventures is an experienced executive, with a strong background in both academic research and industrial development projects. Prior to joining Sanara Ventures, He was VP Research and Development with Aspect Imaging. Dr. Toledo is a graduate of the distinguished “Talpiot” program. He holds a BSc in Physics and Mathematics from the Hebrew University and a PhD in Medical Physics from Tel Aviv University. He has over 10 years of managerial experience in the medical device industry and extensive academic research experience.
Tomer is a co-founder of IMedis-AI. He is an expert in technology management in the digital health space. Tomer has visionary business insight, helping him bring two previous companies he worked for in management roles to M&A’s. Tomer began his career in the elite Israeli Defense Force computer unit “Mamram” where he developed avionics and C4I units. Tomer worked for several digital health companies in management positions and has led projects of over $30 million. Tomer holds a BA in Computer Science and Business from the Open University and an MBA in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship from Tel-Aviv University.
